Thirty miles from nowhere… you’ll find yourself at the End of the Road

End of the Road promo imageWithout spoiling this film for others I will just say it starts out setting the scene for what you would expect… a film dealing with ghost hunters… what you get is so much more. Watch every moment, remember what you think you see and wait for it. If you are like me you will be surprised by the twists and turns that are laid out before you that you do not even realize you are seeing until you’ve watched the entire film.

Sadly I can’t think of how to tell you more without spoiling things so instead I will say that I normally do not enjoy thrillers as usually the stories rely on in your face over the top blood and gore. Monte M. Moore has managed to write a thriller that instead relied upon twists and turns the way I wish more thrillers would.

In my opinion the characters were well cast and not just because I recognized some familiar faces Robert Picardo (StarTrek: Voyager), Michael Dorn (Star Trek: TNG) and Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) to name a couple. And if you watch carefully you might even spot Monte himself in his cameo unless he found a double for himself.

This film definitely has me looking forward to more of Monte M. Moore’s film projects. After watching End of the Road I am even more convinced than ever that we will be watching some of his future work on the big screen.

If you haven’t seen End of the Road yet, start looking for a copy. As for where did I manage to get my copy? I was lucky enough to pick mine up at San Diego Comic Con from Monte himself and my only regret is that I delayed this long in watching it. But then again, I did say thrillers aren’t my usual choice of films so that was probably subconsciously why I delayed (that and recovering from Comic Con too).
