Crossing Paths

People come
People Go
Some stay for a day
Some stay longer
We may never know
Why our path they crossed
But each crossing
Leaves its mark
Teaches us even if
we do not see
Teaches us to trust, to fear
to smile, to cry
to love, to hate
All these and more we learn
from those that cross our life path
None are we born knowing
only others can teach these to us
