Geek Weekend… Free Comic Book Day and Star Wars Day
The stars have aligned perfectly for geeks near and far. May 3, 2014 is Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) and Comic Book Publishers have brought a variety of books to this year’s event that can be found at local comic book shops and the best part… these books are FREE FREE FREE! What better price can be had? Not only is this a great day for existing comic book readers and collectors, but it is even better as a way to bring in your friends, neighbors and family that don’t currently read comics and open the door to all the fantastic worlds residing within the pages of comics. The fun doesn’t stop with the books and the price. Many shops have managed to get some of the creative talent to come in and do signings during the event. (I even know of one shop that has a band, Kissed Alive, appearing for a show during the FCBD event.
And here is a teaser of where some of the signings will be (there are more out there that aren’t listed here, this is just a teaser) be sure to check your local comic book shop’s website, facebook page, twitter feed etc to see what they may have scheduled for FCBD:
