Enter: MAN-THING!The Savage Land holds many secrets, among them what could be the key to resurrection…but at what cost?
While I am a Wolverine fan and that is what had me picking up this title to begin with (actually my local comic-book shop knows to pull all Wolverine titles for me) this is the first time I have been left wondering, how is Wolverine just being in the book making this a Wolverine book? Thus far he seems to be more of a supporting player than the lead character for the book. That doesn’t lessen my enjoyment of this book. “Shanna the She-Devil” and “Amadeus Cho” take the book and seem to run away with it. Shanna I had only been vaguely familiar with before and Amadeus definitely managed to slip below my radar prior to this series. Will have to do some digging to learn more about him as I am enjoying both his intelligence and humor.
Though I was originally skeptical of Frank Cho writing and drawing a Wolverine title, I am finding myself enjoying it even if I still am wondering why this is a Wolverine title rather than a Shanna title, other than one will bring in the readers while the other might be passed over.
Final Score: 7/10 [losing points mainly for misleading the reader into thinking they are buying a Wolverine centric title]
Yeah in the end I agree with you. Also putting Shanna back in her original jungle costume confuses me… she’s not worn that since the 80s.
However I was glad to know what the pouches on Wolverine’s belt were for and that he’s not tall like that actor Hugh Jackman…
Oh man that reference to Hugh still cracks me up, awesome!
