Free of her prison, Shame has wrought chaos upon the world. The one woman able to stop her has been a captive for sixteen years. Now, a brave young warrior seeks to find and release that woman, Virtue.
Read this the other day and still at a loss for words on how to describe this book. It is so different from most of the books out there that it took my breath away. I definitely recommend reading Shame Conception before reading Shame Pursuit so that it makes more sense. The story is one has been tickling my brain, reminding of something just out of reach. Perhaps this is what has kept me at a loss for words.
The story is sensual, dark, twisted all things that I enjoy in a story. But it is also much more. powerful, fast moving, drawing the reader from panel to panel, page to page, wanting to know what will happen, who will prevail.
And it isn’t simply the story, it’s the art. I can’t think of the last time I have read a book that has art of this level. This isn’t the typical comic book art, instead it is reminiscent of the art in fairy tale books from my childhood. Not the bright cheerful art we see in fairytales these days, but the dark art we saw in the older fairytales. The ones that were meant to teach us lessons.
If you want a read that is a bit different, if you enjoy the dark and twisted layered with sensuality, then this book is for you.
Final Score: For story and art 8/10
