New York, NY – August 22, 2013 – Epic Pictures Releasing has set a theatrical release date of October 4th for their action adventure VIKINGDOM by Yusry A. Halim. This KRU Studios production features Dominic Purcell of Prison Break, Conan Stevens of The Hobbit trilogy, Craig Fairbrass, Jon Foo and Natassia Malthe, and is produced by Shireen Hashim with Norman Halim and Patrick Ewald as executive producers. Shaked Berenson and Edry Halim are co-executive producers.
VIKINGDOM, based on Viking mythology, tells the story of Eirick (Dominic Purcell) who battles from hell and beyond to retrieve the mystical artifact, Odin’s Horn, before Thor and his army can unleash its powers to conquer the world.
“VIKINGDOM combines the energy of IRONCLAD with the visual style of 300 or SPARTACUS”, said Patrick Ewald, CEO of Epic Pictures Releasing. “With the massive and growing interest in shows like HBO’S GAME OF THRONES and The History Channel’s VIKINGS, audiences will get what they want when it comes to historical fantasy and action,” continued Ewald.
The film will be screening in 3D in select theaters. In addition, Universal Pictures has acquired United Kingdom, the Nordics, Australia/New Zealand and additional territories for the international release of VIKINGDOM.
