What does Hawkins have to say about why he is writing this book?

Considering the story Hawkins has been delivering with Think Tank, Aphrodite IX and Tales of Honor, I was curious to see where all his research into GMOs would lead. Then with an unexpected surprise the other day, my curiosity was satisfied (at least momentarily) with a sneak peek at Wildfire.
