Before you get to the photos from their signing, let me just say these were two of the nicest people you could meet.
I listened as M.K. responded to one young fan when she asked which pens he uses. Rather than name the brand, he asked her if she draws. And when she said yes, his response was to tell her that brand of pen you use doesn’t matter. Watching him speak with her, and I am assuming her brothers and mother. He was engaged in the conversation and giving advice on how to grow as an artist. I want to give him kudos for his response, as to often you hear the response be simply to name the brand and why an artist prefers the pen. Now to be honest I don’t often listen to conversations with children but this one caught my attention and I wanted to share the bit I caught with you. And Ken, thank you for the few moments we talked about writing comics. It was encouraging to hear what you had to say.
