San Diego Comic-Con a Few of My Favorite Sunday Moments

San Diego Comic-Con 2015: Bridget Silvestri, Abby Dark-Star, (Toothless), September MourningSan Diego Comic-Con 2015 has come and gone. By day 4 1/2 of SDCC the body wishes to go home but come the end of the day the last thing we want to do is say farewell to friends, some of whom we may only see once a year at SDCC. My description of heaven last night was a cold shower after the heat and humidity of the Sunday crowd. My description of heaven this morning was a hot shower to loosen all the sore muscles from SDCC.

A few lessons learned, don’t change up your camera gear right as you head into Comic-Con. My hands still hurt from the weight added to the camera from a battery pack. Though I loved the added juice for the camera and not needing to swap out batteries on the floor, not being used to the added weight has resulted in very achy hands today. This is resulting in limiting time working on the computer as the hands rest up. Second lesson learned, shoe inserts with the metatarsil thingy in them (yes the technical term is thingy) require getting used to. Don’t swap them into your shoes at the last minute, forgot that they take getting used to and now my feet actually feel bruised from them. Live and learn.

Now that I covered the lessons learned, I did manage to edit a few (only a few) of my favorite moments form Sunday. From a laughing John Barrowman at the Pop Culture Hero Coalition’s panel. I will have to re-listen to the panel to remember what had just been said that brought on the laughter (I just remember we were laughing right along with him). There was the goofiness that came when Abby “Toothless” Dark-Star stopped by the Top Cow booth and I took photos of her with Bridget Silvestri and Emily “September Mourning” Lazar. The photo bomb by Rich “Riven” Juzwick of September Mourning when I took the photo of Keith “Zendragon” Zen with Emily. Jennifer giving the only kitten she will have a smooch. Greg Capullo stopping by to say hi to Marc Silvestri and then getting to meet both Greg and his wife Jamie. (And yes Greg, any time you need a personal photographer just let me know.) There was going for coffee with Linda and Stjepan Sejic. Oh and let’s not forget receiving a Honor Harrington sketch that Linda did for me. It’s beautiful and on the way out from SDCC was commented on by Collin Kelly. And if I didn’t list a moment with you among these favorites it’s not that it’s not a favorite, it’s that there are so many my brain is still trying to process them all. There were 100’s if not 1000’s of other moments on Sunday alone so it will take me a little bit to sort through all the photos and even audio files.

There will be more coming as I can make my way through it all. For as much as my hands ache from the camera it actually is a lower photo count than last year, but that doesn’t mean any less to share. Just means I may have covered one or two fewer panels which is where my photo counts usually go way up.
